Wild Dolphin Research Intern

Florida State University - 1/2008-2/2008

Interned with a research team studying wild bottlenose dolphin populations in the Gulf of Mexico. We ran transects of sections of the Gulf and stopped when we spotted dolphins. We took mark-recapture photography to identify dolphins by their dorsal fins, took underwater recordings, marked gps locations, recorded dolphin behavior, and took oxygen, temperature, and salinity measurements with a YSI meter.

I also helped with a study on manatees by listening to underwater recordings and marking instances of manatee sounds.
